In Nigeria, the UN works with the government and the people to implement its development priorities towards achievement of sustainable development and to promote peace and human rights. The work is guided by global, regional, and national development and normative frameworks to which Nigeria is signatory to, including the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063. To support this work successfully, the UN RCO in Nigeria intends to engage qualified professionals to support the reimagination of its support to the acceleration and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through integration of community voices, ideas and action as informed by context, leaving no one behind. The position is located in the United Nations Resident Coordination Office (RCO) in Nigeria and reports to the Senior Development Coordination Officer, Strategic Planning and RCO Team Leader.
Under the supervision of the Head of Partnership, the Partnership and Coordination Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
. Assists with the provision of substantive support for strategic planning for and coordination of UNCT partnerships.
• Supports the implementation of locally-tailored resource mobilization strategies and initiatives, and identifies appropriate data and benchmarks to measure progress and success;
•Assist in planning and facilitating the design, formulation, implementation, monitoring and reporting of joint programmes and programming processes for use in joint resource mobilization;
• In close coordination with the Communications and Advocacy officer, support in strengthening the UN brand via events, media and public relations opportunities targeted to the diverse partners, in close collaboration with the UN Communications Group.
• Support in planning s and facilitating the development, maintenance and sharing of knowledge and intelligence, to ensure RC/UNCT are informed and positioned to effectively generate and harness opportunities to meet its resource mobilization targets;
• Contributes to knowledge networks and communities of practice at national, regional and global levels;
• Participate in evaluation and selection of partnership opportunities at the sourcing and origination stages.
