JOB DESCRIPTION

Background

Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the respective Human Resources Business Partners, the consultant will work closely with the HR Associates in providing recruitment & selection services within Europe & Central Asia Region and Arab States Region.

Duties and Responsibilities

Description of Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the recruitment and selection processes of FTAs/TAs/SCs/PSA (national/international) including preparation of vacancy announcements, screening candidates, coordination, and chairing of panel interviews;
  • Screen applications received online against the pre-determined criteria for the post;
  • Ensure required New P11 application document for screening is available and where required request for the same from the applicant;
  • Ensure gender and geographical consideration in the long listing;
  • Maintain a monitoring system, advising the HRBP on the status of pending requests and approaching deadlines and follow up on pending issues as applicable.
  • Record a brief justification for each applicant, explaining the reason for longlisting/not-longlisting.
  • Submit the longlist for review by the HR Business Partner or other HR Focal Person as applicable within the given KPI for longlisting.
  • Source candidates by using databases, social media, and other sources as applicable;
  • Provide support in scheduling, coordination, and facilitation of test administration.
  • Schedule and facilitate interview panels, draft interview panel reports and obtain the require clearances from the panel members in accordance with UN Women procedures;
  • Conduct background checks and other assessment tools to assist in the selection of candidates;
  • Support in recruitment and selection of Consultants and Personnel Services Agreements (PSA), as necessary.
  • Provide support in maintenance of recruitment relate information for management planning.
  • Ensure confidentiality in all procedures and exchanges of information.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Knowledge building and knowledge sharing

  • Provide support to the organization, facilitate and/or deliver training and learning initiatives for personnel on HR-related topics.
  • Provide sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice by synthesizing lessons learnt and disseminating best practices in HR.
  • Collect feedback, ideas and internal knowledge about processes and best practices and utilize productively.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, t or other relevant social sciences.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience recruitment and selection
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity, including gender balance;
  • A high sense of confidentiality, diplomacy and urgency is required;
  • Development experience and knowledge of the United Nations rules and regulations, policies, procedures and practices particularly those related to human resources are preferable;
  • Experience with UN Women/UNDP ERP system is an added advantage.

Languages:

  • Fluency in oral and written English is required;
  • Knowledge of another UN language would be an asset.

A Consultant Contract will be issued in accordance with UN Women rules and regulations. The Recruitment Consultant shall be paid upon completion of the deliverables and upon certification of duties performed for each assignment to be undertaken within the contract period.
