Background:
Mercy Corps is a leading global organization powered by the belief that a better world is possible. In disaster, in hardship, in more than 40 countries around the world, we partner to put bold solutions into action — helping people triumph over adversity and build stronger communities from within.
Micromentor is an initiative of Mercy Corps’ Innovations Team. Micromentor connects entrepreneurs and business mentors on an easy-to-use social platform that strives to overcome geographical limitations and deliver business resources at scale to under-resourced communities around the globe. We are the world’s largest network of free business mentoring. Entrepreneurs matched with a mentor have shown significant results in terms of improved job creation, business survival, and revenue growth. Since its inception, our community has grown to more than 270,000 entrepreneurs and 90,000 mentors across 180 countries. Our team is diverse, driven, hardworking, and highly committed to the mission of helping small businesses thrive through mentoring.
Micromentor’s business model functions as part nonprofit and part social-enterprise, with revenue coming both from grants, and our paid B2B Mentorship-as-a-Service and corporate employee engagement offerings.
The Business Development Representative will work directly with the Development Manager, Director of Programs & Innovations and the Executive Director, and cross functionally with all other Micromentor teams to ensure Micromentor meets its revenue goals. We are looking for someone who is interested in forming a longer partnership with Micromentor and potentially continuing work beyond the initial consultancy.
Purpose / Project Description: Micromentor is looking for a highly motivated, results-driven and customer-oriented professional. Their role will contribute to Micromentor’s ability to expand, and build a strong footprint as a social enterprise. This role will also act as a liaison with Mercy Corps’ larger fundraising operations teams and relationship managers on donor and client research and outreach.
