Position Overview

PADF seeks a motivated Communications Intern to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for an individual passionate about storytelling, social media strategy, and public relations, and who is eager to contribute to our mission of supporting vulnerable populations across the hemisphere. This position is expected to last 90 days.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage content for PADF’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, ensuring alignment with our communication goals and brand voice.
  • Create and update content for the PADF website, including blog posts, news updates, and impact stories.
  • Draft press releases and media kits to enhance PADF’s visibility and public engagement.
  • Produce engaging and impactful short videos tailored for YouTube Shorts and Instagram Stories, focusing on PADF’s initiatives and achievements.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of a social media campaign aimed at building awareness of PADF’s activities and impact in the region.
  • Travel to project sites to gather authentic content and real-time updates, providing a hands-on perspective of PADF’s work on the ground. 

Final Project: By the end of the internship, submit a comprehensive communications portfolio that includes:

  • A well-researched and insightful blog post for the PADF website.
  • A social media campaign plan and execution strategy, including content calendars and post-campaign analysis.
  • A professional press release showcasing a significant PADF event or milestone.
  • A series of short videos designed for social media, highlighting various aspects of PADF’s work.

 Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in digital storytelling and content creation.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and analytics tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work in various settings across Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in either Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable.
