1. General Background
UNHCR Korea is considered one of the key markets for PSP, with the long-term growth potential to raise over $80 million in the coming years. In line with this strategy, UNHCR Korea set the Digital and Direct Response TV (DRTV) fundraising program expansion as the most important growth driver, bringing over 40% of PSP Korea’s acquisition revenue.
However, Korea has become an increasingly saturated and competitive private sector fundraising market, with various International Nonprofit organizations investing heavily in digital and Direct Response TV (DRTV) fundraising activities year by year.
Based on the PSP growth pathways, Digital and DRTV acquisition programs in UNHCR Korea are now assessed as in the ‘prepare’ pathway and aim to move forward to the ‘accelerate’ pathway by 2025. In this context, strengthening the capacity of developing competitive content including creatives and campaigns becomes the most imperative of all areas that require to achieve growth.
