JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the Job

GOAL seeks Supervisor/ Community Liaison to conduct data collection and site visit to implement beneficiaries’ verification. The post holder is primarily responsible for collecting field data and site visit to do beneficiaries verification. He has direct contact with households and have a great bearing on the quality of data collected and ultimately on the quality of data output.

Main responsibilities

She will be closely supervised and report to the Shelter Officer. The core task will be to assist the Shelter Officer /Technical Assistant to conduct household visits of potential beneficiaries to gather data in order to assess whether they meet the criteria of the project.

  • Conduct data collection of eligible households for temporary/durable solutions intervention using the provided data collection tools through observation of the vulnerability on ground.
  • Conduct household assessment on registered households within the assigned areas.
  • Interview the identified vulnerable beneficiaries for temporary/durable solutions (Shelter and CFR) within the project area to ensure the data and info that have been recorded within registered forms or Kobo Collection.
  • Document all the findings in the provided data collection tools.
  • Compiling and sorting the filled data collection tools as directed by the supervisor.
  • Ensure collected data is accurately recorded.
  • Capture data using digital data entry technology provided.
  • Ensure anonymity of respondents and develop relationship of trust and safe space during data collection exercise with respondents.
  • Identify and report any challenges faced that could affect the quality of the data.
  • Take responsibility for project equipment that you may be entrusted with.
  • Report daily issues and challenges to the line supervisor.
  • Any other duties assigned by the line supervisor.

Specific responsibilities

  • Present the data to the supervisor at the end of each day.
  • Report to the supervisor before and after day’s work for further direction.
  • Ensure handling in all the completed household visits and verification’s questionnaires for the day to the supervisor.
  • Ensure that all questionnaires and equipment are accounted for.
  • Turn over all materials used in the assessment to the supervisor.
  • Follow confidentiality and security procedures to ensure respondent privacy is protected.

Generic professional competencies

  • Minimum of University degree or 12th grade Diploma
  • Working experience minimum 1 year with community-based projects.
  • Experience in assessment and data collection in a humanitarian/ recovery context
  • Knowledge or using KOBO Collected at smart phone
  • Previous work experience with satisfactory performance in the same or similar functional area preferably with UN or INGOs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Fluency in English and local language Dari/Pashtu
  • Able to express your ideas clearly and confidently in speech
  • Able to act on initiative, identify opportunities & proactive in putting forward ideas & solutions
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

  • Ability to work independently and confidence to undergo household visits.
  • Computer literacy to be able to work on smart phone-based data collection applications.
