Job Summary:
As an Associate Operations Officer, you will: (i) maintain EARD’s programming database; (ii) support corporate reporting (e.g., Annual Report, Work Plan Budget and Framework (WPBF), Operations Review Meeting (ORM), Budget Review Committee (BRC) meeting, Management Committee Meeting (MCM), management briefing papers) including portfolio reporting at corporate level and department work plan coordination, donor coordination and liaison for visiting missions/delegations; and (iii) provide backstopping support for Senior Operations Officers.
Duties:
- Maintain EARD’s Programming Dashboard, internal site, including historical database for loans, grants and TAs, and minutes related to the progress and history of EARD’s confinancing operations and regional cooperation activities.
- Help prepare the annual departmental work plan, monitor and report Sectors Group’s (SG) achievement against the targets in the workplan, and support in EARD’s submissions to the Annual Report with the Department of Communications and Knowledge Management and assigned EARD staff.
- Provide inputs in preparing relevant documents for the quarterly ORM, BRC meeting, MCM reports, briefing papers, and other corporate-level management meetings, as assigned, and coordinate inputs from SG and Resident missions (RMs) in preparing EARD’s submission for the WPBF.
- Provide support in preparing country briefing papers, presentations, and status reports on different country operations, development cooperation with donor countries/other multilateral organizations as requested by DG, EARD, or by RMs/other departments for visiting delegations from DMCs/other international/external organizations.
- Coordinate and monitor allocation of Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF) and TASF savings.
- Coordinate quarterly requests on (i) Information on Operational Risk Incident/Loss with the Office of Risk Management (ORM and (ii) Information on Subsequent Events with the Controller’s Department (CTL).
- Be the EARD’s focal for Sovereign Operations (SovOps) and alternate focal for: (i) Board Calendar System; and (ii) EARD’s Business Continuity Plan including participation in meetings with the Organizational Resilience Unit (CSRS-OR) and updating the Business Continuity Plan.
- Be an alternate to Senior Operations Officer and provide backstopping support for overall portfolio management and EARD’s corporate reporting needs including coordination with the Strategy, Policy, and Partnerships Department (SPD), cofinancing and other working groups.
Qualifications:
You will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics or related fields, preferably with advanced training.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience administering international development projects or portfolio management with multilateral development institutions.
- Understanding of business policies.
- Proficiency in using information systems (e.g., ODB, eOps, PowerBi), and experience using computer applications e.g., Microsoft Suite
- Written and verbal proficiency in English
