About this position

The CID/CID is looking for an economic support consultant who contributes to fulfilling the objectives set in the region with a focus on economic analysis.

Professional with knowledge of data analysis on macroeconomics, household surveys, and input-output matrixes.

 

What you’ll do

  • Contribute to work on the agenda of the macroeconomic effects of investing in education.
  • Review literature on the macroeconomic effects of changes in public expenditure with a focus on education.
  • Data analysis on households’ consumption patterns and public and private education use using household surveys.
  • Data analysis of domestic value-added and the origin of production by sector using input-output matrixes.
  • Contribute to writing analyses on the effects of investing in education on macroeconomic aggregates.

What you’ll need

  • Education: Technical Degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics, statistics or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience.
  • Languages: Fluency in English with a working knowledge of one other Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is a plus.

  • Technical skills: Knowledge of econometric packages, household surveys, and input-output matrixes. 

 

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

 

Type of contract and duration

  • Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
  • Length of contract: 9 months.
  • Work Location: On site.
