About this position
We are looking for an experienced head of multidisciplinary teams with quantitative and analytic backgrounds, knowledge of applied quantitative methods integrating financial and non-financial risk-related information, data management expertise, including structure and unstructured information processing, and familiarity with developing data visualization tool systemic & multi-factor risk group head. In addition, as a systemic & multi-factor risk group head, your quantitative background should allow you to develop and implement a multidimensional risk framework for the Office of Risk Management, including compounding, concurrent, and cascading financial and non-financial risks.
You will work in the Strategic Risk Management (SRM) group part of Office of Risk Management.
What you’ll do:
Proven management record in similar positions, including management of technically strong multi-disciplinary teams. Experience conceptualizing and creating analytical groups from scratch is a plus.
Exceptional ability for strategic thinking, including outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with a clear ability to add value through creative thinking, in-depth and disciplined analysis, and effective monitoring of metrics and results.
Demonstrated track record in developing scenario and stress testing analyses combining financial and non-financial information. Experience processing and applying non-structured data is a plus.
Track record of excellent planning, analytical, organizational, written/oral communication, and presentation skills.
Experience in communicating complex ideas and concepts to decision-makers with no technical or quantitative background, including devising visual tools (e.g., dashboards), web-based platforms, and/or apps.
Experience working with Latin American and Caribbean countries in a multilateral set-up. Experience working in other regions is a plus.
Ability to attract, select, and motivate talented and diverse staff, including being an excellent team player with strong collaboration skills and drive for results, fostering a cooperative work environment.
Outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively work with all levels of staff and key stakeholders across the IDBG, including Management, the Board of Executive Directors, various institutional committees, and particularly with clients.
What you’ll need
Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance, or related fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
Experience: At least 12 years of relevant experience managing and delivering analytical work with emphasis on non-financial risk assessment, scenario analysis, and stress testing. Experience in management positions in multilateral and/or financial institutions would be highly valued. Experience in working with econometric and statistical models, data management, data processing, and visualization is a must.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

Requirements

Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
