JOB DESCRIPTION

Generic responsibilities

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.

  1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  2. Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
  3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  4. Ensure proper filing of documents
  5. Perform other duties, as assigned by Line Manager
  6. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function

Specific responsibilities 

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.

  • Responsible for induction program of staff in the area
  • Responsible for HR administration including attendance, leave request and registry, documentation for archive and medical insurance
  • Responsible to maintain an update HR Archives and correspondences
  • Coordinate payment of electricity/water/ gas bills, ensuring functioning and securing residences /offices equipment’s.
  • Arrange accommodation for visitors and staff in residences and hotels, from booking to billing.

By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:

  1. Competencies

These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.

Generic professional competencies: 

  • Diploma in social sciences, Administration, Human Resources or another related field
  • Experience from working as a Support Function Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Fluency in Portuguese spoken and written
  • Knowledge in languages spoken in Cabo Delgado: Kimwani, Macua, Makonde.
  • Some knowledge of English

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience: 

•              Experience from working in Cabo Delgado or other complex and volatile contexts

Experience work

•              Responsible for HR administration in CO including leave, absences, Timesheets

•              Ability to meet deadlines
