ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
These jobs are found in Country Offices (COs), Regional Bureau (RBs), and Headquarters (HQ). The Job holders report to a Head of the Unit, Chief or Information Technology Officer, or the designate.
At this level job holders are expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of processes and activities requiring interpretation of standard guidelines/practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other staff.
JOB PURPOSE
To deliver high quality technical support, system and data maintenance across a range of areas, in order to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1. Recognize, and act on, your accountability towards good people management practices. Role models the WFP values and the associated behaviors as laid out in the WFP Leadership Framework, to contribute to the creation of an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
2. Provide excellence in customer service by providing timely solutions to IT requests on ticketing system within the best SLA time.
3. Maintain technology, including standard repairs, configuration, and storage, in accordance with data security and access controls to ensure IT equipment required for WFP staff is available.
Conduct the required maintenance for computers, upgrade firmware and soft ware, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
4. Respond to a variety of queries about technology and systems in order to assist WFP staff to deliver their services.
5. Handle IT tickets for Turba field office in the service management system (EasyVista) and ensure prompt time entry on IT tickets. Classify incidents and request types, prioritize the IT tickets according to urgency and importance, follow up IT tickets to make sure that the solution
is provided on time. This includes generating daily, weekly and monthly report about IT tickets.
6. Provide IT equipment/services to WFP staff in Turba field office to ensure that all the staff have the required IT equipment and services (like laptop, peripheral devices, AD accounts and other IT related services).
7. Maintain Internet connections, configure WAN routers, Forti Gate and monitor Internet health status to ensure that the Internet is always available to staff .
8. Maintain network devices like switches, wireless controller, wireless access points and microwave solutions. Perform network installation works, documentation, design and perform cable management in the server rooms and network cabinets.
9. Ensure that server room is always organized and maintain a cool environment to ensure the network devices and equipment stays protected from overheating.
10. Maintain servers and make sure that they are available to the end users. Ensure that daily, weekly, monthly and yearly data backup are done in accordance with WFP standards.
11. Maintain printers/photocopiers, perform stock management of toners and spare parts. This includes generating consumption and stock level reports.
12. Ensure that all IT assets are registered in GEMs and the details are up to date to maintain the assets record accuracy. Assist in IT assets annual physical count exercise.
13. Troubleshoot and monitor security surveillance system in the server rooms, access control system, standalone UPS and central UPS by coordinating with admin team when needed.
14. Maintain telephone PBX system to support IP, SIP, digital/analogue telephone, VSAT voice calls and assign staff extension numbers.
15. Activate SIM cards for both voice and data to WFP staff in Turba field office. This includes following up the credit issues with the service provider through the country office and generate telephone bills for staff when needed.
16. Maintain the availability of the telephone landline services in Turba field office including following up the bill’s payment.
17. Maintain KPI indicator of Turba field office to 100% according to WFP standards. Respond to vulnerabilities remediation actions on end-point devices.
18. Support the development of standard material such as training documentation and web content on behalf of senior officers, to ensure staff have access to required information about IT services and products.
19. Prepare the IT setup in the meeting rooms and outdoor events for different activities.
20. Install, operate and maintain security communication systems and equipment, to ensure optimal services incompliance with standard operati ons procedures.
21. With support of senior colleagues, provide standard training to end users of technology and systems to ensure staff use standard technology and systems effectively.
22. Suggest improvements to methods and processes in order to support the continuous improvement of IT services.
23. Follow set emergency response processes and procedures as required to provide support in enabling emergency food assistance needs to be met.
24. Perform any other duties as required by the organization.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in any relevant field is desirable.
Language: Proficiency (read/ write/ speak) in English & Arabic
Experience: At least five years of postgraduate progressively relevant professional experience.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
• Has experience resolving more complex technical issues.
• Has worked with head of units in defining requirements for functional area.
• Has experience with the application of client services standards to resolve or escalate clients’ service problems.
