The internship is in the Russian language team of the Social Media Section, Communications Campaigns Service, Campaigns and Country Operations Division of the Department of Global Communications. The section is responsible for social media activities of the Department of Global Communications and the integration of social media platforms, including social networking tools such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, which are critical component of the Department”s communications. Within delegated authority, the public information intern may be responsible for the following duties:
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations New York Headquarters Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: 1. Applicants must: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor”s level or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Please list your area of study. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. Familiarity with software programmes Canva, Trello, PowerPoint, and/or Adobe Photoshop (or graphic design programmes) is desirable. Please list you experience with these or similar programmes. Familiarity with and/or interest in taking digital photographs is desirable. Please list any experience you have in this area.
English or French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the internship advertised, fluency in English and Russian is required. Knowledge of another official language of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese, Kiswahili or Hindi is desirable.
