Position Overview

The Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (the Global Partnership), hosted at the United Nations Foundation, is a dynamic international network bringing together over 700 partners including governments, international organizations, private companies, civil society organizations, and many others. We make connections and broker partnerships to improve data production, access, and use to drive better decisions to end poverty, improve environmental sustainability and advance equal opportunities for all. The Global Partnership Secretariat, within which this role is based, supports the network by convening and connecting partners to catalyze solutions to development issues and leverage the power of data to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Digital Communications Associate will support the Global Partnership’s social media and the monthly newsletter. This role is overseen by the Senior Communications Manager, working closely with the Communications Associate and Communications and Policy Officer, and sits within the External Relations team.

This is an hourly, part-time position with a term of 1 year. The Associate is expected to work 16-20 hours per week and the work schedule will be agreed upon by the supervisor.

This position is based in Washington, DC or remote.

Essential Functions

  • Support in maintaining the Global Partnership’s digital presence across social media (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn).
  • Produce original content for use on social media and draft accurate and engaging tweets, Facebook posts, and LinkedIn posts.
  • Create branded social media assets using templates on Adobe InDesign to publicize vacancies, blogs, reports, and more.
  • Edit and trim videos (including webinar recordings) to publish onto YouTube and use on social media.
  • Track and report on digital engagement metrics on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and hashtag engagement for quarterly reporting.
  • Support in producing and sourcing information for a monthly newsletter.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-year related work experience.
  • Knowledge of, interest in, and experience working on international development, the Sustainable Development Goals, especially on issues related to data and technology preferred.
  • Ability to quickly translate complex, technical information into engaging, digestible social media content.
  • Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, time management, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Experience with social media copywriting (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Experience with social media monitoring and analytics tools.
  • Graphic design experience with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Experience with basic video editing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Drive tools.
