Duties and Responsibilities
The Resources and Markets Branch in the Industry and Economy Division requires the services of a HR individual contractor to coordinate and manage several ongoing staff recruitment processes in order to ensure timely recruitments in the context of projects with funding limited to a certain period of time. The Individual Contractor will work under the supervision of the Branch’s Fund Management Officer and in collaboration with the Branch HR Focal Point: The duties and responsibilities will include: • Coordinate with the relevant Head of Unit and Initiatives, Fund Management Officer, and the Chief of Branch, in identifying upcoming vacancies; • Coordinate with the Fund Management Officer for funding for the upcoming vacancies; • Assists to prepares Documents with substantive input from the hiring manager for reclassifications and new job openings; • Assists to prepares comparative table of applicants to job openings for review by the hiring manager; • Assists hiring manager in preparing for the technical written test and coordinates communication with candidates; • Assists hiring manager in organizing competency-based interview and coordinates communication with the candidates; • Takes notes during the interview and coordinates finalization of interview report with hiring manager; • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/special skills
A minimum of 3 years of experience in administrative services, human resources or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced by two years for candidates who possess a first level University degree. Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems such as SAP or equivalent systems is required. Experience working with the United Nations, or a similar international organization is desirable. A minimum of One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.
