Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position of Senior Project Assistant is assigned to the Office of the Director General (CWOD) within the Central and West Asia Department (CWRD). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines upon hiring.

You will report to designated International Staff and senior National Staff.

 

Your Role

As a (Senior) Project Assistant, you will provide technical and analytical support in the development, management, and administration of CWRD’s knowledge, information, and related systems by undertaking a range of specialized duties. You will also collect and consolidate information to support CWRD’s climate change group for analytical purposes, and coordinate matters related to climate change and resilience initiatives.

 

You will:

• In coordination with CWRD’s Knowledge Management Coordinator, provide support to CWRD’s Knowledge Management to develop and implement a more systematic approach to information and knowledge management practices across CWRD teams;

• Maintain and enhance (in collaboration with other CWRD staff) team’s knowledge resources;

• Liaise with CWRD’s Knowledge Management Coordinator and other departments that deal with information management, such as Department of Communications and Knowledge Management, Information Technology Department, Climate Change and Sustainable Department, and represent CWRD in discussions, meetings and working groups on knowledge-related matters across ADB;

• Assist in formulating and implementing knowledge resource improvements, including evaluating the use of new technology; increase CWRD staff’s awareness of the available tools and resources, identifying and promoting best practices and lessons learned across CWRD, and promoting greater buy-in to knowledge collection and curation efforts, in coordination with CWRD’s Knowledge Management Coordinator;

• Assist in the development and maintenance of the documentation for easy reference, and collect, compile, and verify data for analytical purposes and for various studies that may be undertaken from time to time.

• Assist in gathering information from the document log, databases, books, documents, and other publications from various sources for all project and non-project matters in a timely manner.

• Compile relevant briefing notes, presentation materials, speech, and financing facilities, and facilitating the review of documents related to climate change. Contribute to special projects in support of CWRD’s climate change operations.

• Perform other duties as may be assigned and reflected in the incumbent’s workplan.

Qualifications

You will need:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, communication or related fields combined with relevant experience.

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in multilateral organizations.

• Knowledge of ADB processes and systems.

• Good coordination, interpersonal skills and keen on details.

• Good computer skills with sound knowledge of commonly used application software such as MS Office 365 suite.

• Strong presentation and communications skills in English.

• Ability to work in a diverse cultural context and work as a constructive team member.

Additional Information

 

This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew for an initial period of three (3) years following Section 3.1 (b) of Administrative Order No. 2.01 (“Recruitment and Appointment’). This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment. It may be extended on an exceptional basis for a further fixed period at the option of ADB. This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

If you are selected as an external candidate, the appointment may be extended for a period of up to 3 years per extension, or not renewed. In case of extension, staff may continue in the position for another term of up to 3 years.

At the end of the initial period, ADB, as its discretion may: (a) renew a fixed term appointment or assignment, or (b) not renew a fixed term appointment.
