Mission and objectives

UNIC Cairo was established in 1949 and is one of the United Nations Information Centres (UNICs), Services (UNIS) and Offices (UNOs), located in 63 countries worldwide. These centres are key to the Organization’s ability to reach the peoples of the world and to share the United Nations story with them in their own languages. They link the United Nations with people around the world, disseminating global UN messages to local audiences. The Centres serve as a reliable source of up-to-date information about the UN, delivering information in their respective countries to a wide range of people, including journalists, government officials, civil society representatives, students, educators and researchers.

Context

“Voices of Impact” aims to inspire individuals, communities, and stakeholders to actively contribute to positive change and sustainable development. The United Nations Information Centre in Cairo announced the launch of its new podcast, “Voices of Impact: UN in Egypt”. This flagship podcast is set to shed light on the significant work carried out by the United Nations in Egypt, marking an important milestone in the enduring and successful partnership between the United Nations and Egypt, as a founding member of the international organization.

Task Description

We are seeking one Online Volunteers to support us in translating and subtitling for the “Voices of Impact” podcast. The selected volunteer is expected to: 1- Arabic Subtitles for UNIC’s Voices of Impact podcast. Ensure subtitles align with the spoken content, maintaining the intended tone and message. Translation of Communication Materials: Translate communication materials associated with the podcast from English to Arabic. The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with the document in the original language and will receive guidance on the target audience and our communications guidelines as well as other guidance as needed.
