Art der Anstellung:
As part of the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the Federal Ministry of EconomicAffairs and Climate Action, the Project Development Programme (PDP) promotes climatefriendlyenergy solutions in over 18 partner countries. It develops implementablerenewable energy projects, especially solar photovoltaic (PV), by identifying localcompanies, assessing their energy demand, and proposing a business case. Once thelocal companies are convinced to invest in the project, an introduction to potentialGerman suppliers is made. After analysing the market dynamics and the challenges, PDPtogether with other GIZ projects and the German Chambers of Commerce WorldwideNetwork (AHK), develops appropriate solutions for developing the markets, promotingpartnerships between German and local companies, and advancing specific renewablesprojects. ‘Made in Germany’ technologies and know-how of climate-friendly energysupply are in demand worldwide. Along with governments, more and more companies arebecoming aware of the importance of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency toreduce dependence on fossil resources. It also plays a vital role in mitigating climatechange and helps to reduce costs, thus increasing their competitiveness. The support isprimarily aimed at German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and helpsprepare, explore, enter, and secure new business opportunities in the developingmarkets. The support strategy of the German Energy Solutions Initiative is the result ofcontinuous discussion and coordination with the German industry. Direct up-to-dateinformation from the developing markets forms the basis for the annual review process and a further selection of the countries and support measures planning. The focus in sub-Saharan Africa is on Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Nigeria,Zambia, Senegal, in the Middle East on Jordan, and Lebanon, and in Southeast Asia onCambodia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
