JOB PURPOSE

To perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of Programme Associate and overall supervision by the Head of Area -Office in Hpa an Area-Office, the incumbent will perform the following duties: –

  • Perform as a WFP focal staff for Tanintharyi Region and strengthen coordination/collaboration with Multiple stakeholders and local government departments for the smooth implementation of WFP activities in Tanintharyi Region.
  • Collect and summarize assistance programme(s) data in terms of base line data, area profile and other programme related activities, collaborating with cooperating partners where required, conduct analysis and prepare reports in order to support programme reviews and inform decision-making.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure to be able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to the affected areas in terms of flood-affected areas and conflict-affected areas.
  • Support the capacity building of cooperating partners in targeting, registration, food/cash delivery, distribution and reporting.
  • Provide support and assistance to Cooperating partners and local government departments in the preparation of Food/Cash Request Letter, Monthly distribution reports, Payment Claim, call forward/preposition of food.
  • Supervise the efficient distribution of food items at the site and ensure proper distribution of entitlements and verify appropriate entitlements are distributed and provide feedback to supervisor and others on the distribution.
  • Assist in the conduct of regular meetings with community leaders, Project Management Committee (PMC) members, any other relevant committee members and implementing partners on the commodity pipeline distribution arrangements, food entitlements, other relevant issues and empowering them with knowledge to achieve our goals.
  • Ensure and follow the deadline of a regular, complete, and accurate report on programme activities as well as food stock positions, receipts, movements, losses and distribution data for the Area -Office.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Cooperating Partner in the developing of proposal, budget, financial payment claim, monitoring and reporting, constraints and provide feedback.
  • Update programme activity database and tracking sheet, regularly prepare monthly M & E data, data cleaning and request approval for new inclusion and exclusion of beneficiaries as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Completion of secondary education. Relevant post-secondary qualification will be an added advantage.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Four or more years of responsible programme and monitoring experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word.
  • Knowledge of work routines and methods to complete processes under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously independently.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage programs, leadership and teamwork skills, good analytical, communication, negotiation and advocacy skills;
  • Ability to work in a team and establish effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

LANGUAGE

  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in Myanmar and English.
